With over 70 years of experience, Consul GmbH in Halver is a specialist in equipping automotive, body and paint shops and the automotive industry with standard and special lifting systems. Around 85 employees work on around 9000m² to maintain the annual output of around 4000 lifting platforms.

With a dealer network consisting of sales and service partners, Consul ensures comprehensive support for customers, especially in Europe, the Middle East as well as in China, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The company has been producing high-quality automotive workshop equipment since 1953 and has operated completely independently since it was spun off from the Märkisches Werk in Halver in 1986.

Consul Hebebühnen Schulungsraum

Consul Workshop Equipment GmbH has its production facility in Halver, which is also available to customers as a development and training center for practical workshop equipment. In 1999 and 2006 the production site was expanded by more than 2000m².

The company’s philosophy remains to ensure the maintenance of quality and safety of use of its products and of course everything is “Made in Germany”.

1953

Start of production of lifting platforms at Märkischen Werk Halver GmbH (MWH) under license for a US company.

The 1-stamp underfloor lift came off the assembly line.

1968

Start of the design and development of the first 2-post lift at MWH.

1970

Market launch of the first two Consul 2-post lifts model 2.7 asymmetrical installation and model 3.2 symmetrical installation.

1974

The first Consul 2-post lift model Jumbo 2.40 with a load capacity of 4 tons was launched on the market.

1979

Production of the first Mercedes Benz lifting platforms.

1985

Independence of employees from operational management and construction.
Walter Nippel, Walter Berg, Richard Dorowski and Bernd Winter founded the company Montex, which initially manufactured all lifting platforms for the MWH.
Currently still in the MWH’s own halls.
Founding of the Montex company by former MWH’S employees.

1986

Independence of the sales of lifting platforms. The company Consul Handelsgesellschaft is founded (was founded by 9 shareholders). (The product name Consul was used as a template for the company’s name.)

Today the company is 100% family-owned.

1991

Opening of our own production facility including a paint shop and administration building at Daimler Str. 1 in Halver.

1994

The company was certified by Din ISO 9001.

Merging production and sales into one company. The name Consul Workshop Equipment GmbH is born.

1999

The company is expanding and expanding the production area with an extension of approx. 2000 m²

2002

Construction of the training and exhibition center in the administration building

2005 / 2006

Takeover of Zippo Lifts GmbH, based in Offenburg.

Due to the good market acceptance of the Zippo brand and the resulting increased production, the production facility was expanded by a further extension including a new training and exhibition center of approx. 2000 m².

2014

Consul develops the first hydraulic 2-post lift without a mechanical connection

2015

Recertification according to ISO 9001:2015.Re-certification according to 14001:2015 environmental and 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) occupational health and safety.

The company also receives the Made in Germany “Certified Proof of Origin” seal from TÜV NORD. certify. Here the company had to demonstrate 50% added value from procurement to production.

2016

The companies Consul GmbH and Zippo Lifts GmbH merge.
The name Zippo Lifts becomes a product line of Consul GmbH and from then on it is called Z-Line.

2018

Consul Workshop Equipment GmbH is expanding its product portfolio in special lifting table construction by taking over the ATLAN® brand from ME Maschinen Engineering GmbH.
