1953

Beginning of the construction of lifts at the Märkischen Werk Halver GmbH (MWH) under the license of a US-American company.

The 1-ram inground lift rolled of the line.
1968

Start of design and development of the first 2-post lift at MWH.
1970

Market introduction of the first Consul 2-post lift models 2.7 asymmetric installation and 3.2 symmetric installations.
1974

The first Consul 2-post model Jumbo 2.40 with 4 tons capacity is introduced.
1979

Production of the first Mercedes Benz lifts.
1985

Transition to independence of employees from production management and design.
Walter Nippel, Walter Berg, Richard Dorowski and Bernd Winter founded the company Montex for which all lifts were initially manufactured by MWH.  Montex was founded by former MWH employees in at the present time still withing the halls of the MWH.
1986

Transition to independence of the distribution of lifts. The trading company Consul was founded. Today the company is 100% family owned.
  1991

Opening of own production facility incl. paint shop and administration office at Daimlerstr. 1 in Halver.
1994

The company was certified through Din ISO 9001. Fusion of production and distribution into one company.

The name Consul Werkstattausrüstung GmbH emerges.
1999

The company expands and extends its production facility.
2002

Construction of the Training- and Show room facility in the administrative building.
  2005

Acquisition of the company Zippo Lifts GmbH located in Offenburg.
2006

Due to the good market acceptance of the Zippo Lifts brand and the resulting additional production demand the production facilities were expanded again by approx. 2000 m² including a new Training- and Show room facility.
2014

Consul designs the first hydraulic 2-post lift without mechanical connection.
2015

Recertification according to ISO 9001:2015. New certification according to 14001:2015 Environment and 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) Industrial safety.

Moreover the company receives the certified Made In Germany Seal = “Certified proof of origin”.
2016

Fusion of the companies Consul GmbH and Zippo Lifts GmbH. The name Zippo Lifts is transformed into a product line and thusly called Z-Line.
2018 Consul Werkstattausrüstung GmbH extend their product portfolio with the acquisition of the ATLAN® brand from the ME Maschinen Engineering GmbH of their special design lifting table.
